Here you'll find the habits, routines, and systems that work. I teach fitness, nutrition, budgeting, and the no-nonsense strategies that keep it all from falling apart.
This blog is about building unshakeable habits and consistency that lasts.
I launched my business in March 2022 with my monthly training membership. A few months in, I noticed the same thing happening over and over. Women were asking me about nutrition far more than they were asking me about training. So in October of that year I got certified, and in January 2023 I opened the nutrition coaching side of the business.
I’ve now coached exactly 491 women between group and 1:1 coaching. At this point I can spot the patterns fast. Some women get incredible results. Some spin their wheels for months. The difference between them is rarely about genetics, metabolism, or how much time they have. It comes down to a specific set of habits and attitudes, and I’m laying both sets out for you today.
They plan ahead. They pre-log their food the night before or the morning of, so the day is decided before it starts. They fill out their weekly progress tracker throughout the week instead of scrambling the night before check-in. When a day goes sideways, they course correct mid-week to chip away at the weekly average instead of writing off the whole week.
They treat this like it matters. Steps get the same respect as workouts. Strength training is the foundation and cardio is the side dish. They hit calories, protein, and fiber regularly, in that order of priority. They hydrate well, because a good amount of what feels like hunger is dehydration.
They cook at home. Almost every meal. Eating out is reserved for something special rather than being the default when the day gets busy.
They weigh daily without expecting the number to drop daily. They understand the scale is data, not a verdict.
They come to me solution-oriented. When they have a question, they also bring what they think the answer is and ask me to vet it. That one habit alone moves people forward faster than almost anything else, because they’re building judgment instead of outsourcing it.
They have outlets besides food. Sad, happy, stressed, celebrating. Food is part of life, but it isn’t the only tool in the drawer.
And when they miss a goal, they own it. No hunting for something or someone to blame.
They log reactively. Food gets entered while they’re eating it, or after, from memory, with guessed weights and measurements. The data ends up too messy to coach from.
They log Monday and Tuesday, then go quiet for the rest of the week. Or they go extremely hard for three weeks and then disappear for a month. Consistency at 70% beats perfection at 30% every single time.
They eat out often. They drink regularly. They treat every weekend like a vacation, which means two days out of every seven are working against the other five.
Food sits at the center of everything. Bad day, food. Good day, food. Stressful week, food.
They come to check-in with a fresh excuse for every missed goal. They blame their schedule, their family, their job, their week. Meanwhile they’re constantly stressed because of their own lack of planning, and they describe themselves as a hot mess.
They ask me very basic questions that would have taken less time to look up than to type out. Then eventually they stop responding to me altogether.
They turn in the progress tracker late, or not at all.
And the tell I see most often: they stop tracking carefully the second we leave a deficit. Maintenance and building phases are where the real skill gets developed, and that’s exactly where they let go of the rope.
Read back through those two lists and be honest with yourself about which one you’re closer to right now. None of the first list requires talent. Pre-logging is a fifteen minute habit. Filling out your tracker as you go takes two minutes a day. Taking responsibility costs nothing.
These are learned behaviors, and every single woman I’ve watched transform her body has built them one at a time.
